Term 4 saw us "très" busy in the kitchen and in class, learning some lifelong skills. We researched healthy meal options and created a menu in French; we learnt about table setting and how to make it inviting for our guests. After putting on our brand new aprons and washing our hands thoroughly, we helped make crêpes from scratch and practised rolling them with cutlery.The refined white sugar topping was replaced by "cassonade", natural brown sugar from Belgium that is very popular for desserts.Crêpe recipe (4 people)Mix 150gr of plain flower to 1/2 litre of (soy, rice, almond) milk.Add 3 eggs and mix through with a whisk.Add a bit of oil or butter in a hot "crêpière" or thin pan before pouring 3/4 of a lidl full of crêpe mix.Move the pan so that the thin mix covers the base of the pan.Turn over until both sides reach a golden colour.Place the crêpe on a plate and serve with brown sugar, white sugar and lemon, ice cream and strawberries...Bon appétit !Madame Grant ...
